SUMMARY OF DIETARY MANAGER POSITION

WHEATRIDGE PARK CARE CENTER is seeking a creative, detail-oriented and passionate Dietary Manager. We strive to provide care to our residents that exceeds industry standards and we are looking for a Dietary Manager that wants to join that mission!

RESPONSIBILITIES

The ideal candidate for this role will have strong leadership qualities and a passion for producing a quality product. The purpose of the Dietary Services Manager is to oversee the daily operations of the dietary department in accordance with facility, federal and state and local regulations and standards.

  • Maintains and keeps accurate accounting for all budgets assigned, and informs Administrator prior to spending monies in excess of the budget.
  • Monitors and supervises Dining Room Services, as needed, during meal times.
  • Interviews, hires, trains, coaches, evaluates, rewards, disciplines, and terminates employees, when necessary. Attends facilitiy meetings and care conferences, as needed.
  • Manages revenue generating services, uses forecasts, food waste records, inventory and equipment records to plan the purchase of food, supplies and equipment.
  • Ensures each department staff is and continues to be adequately informed of important issues, changes, regulatory updates, as appropriate.
  • Monitors personal and staff compliance with all Federal and State regulations concerning blood borne pathogens, infection control, use of hazardous materials, and fire safety.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years management experience preferred.
  • Accreditation as a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) preferred.
  • Healthcare/skilled nursing home experience preferred.
  • Must possess a strong desire to work with the elderly.
  • Must have the ability to multitask.
